Privacy Policy for Web to Excel

Last updated: 29 September 2026

This policy describes what the Web to Excel browser extension does with information. It matches the current version of the extension.

The publisher of Web to Excel can be reached at mynickar@gmail.com.

What the extension does

Web to Excel reads structured information from a web page you choose and lets you export it. You can scan the page, click a table, click a repeated item, or click a repeated web component. You can preview the result and save CSV or Excel on your device, or create a Google Sheet.

The extension does not include an account, a payment form, analytics, or advertising.

Information the extension accesses

When you open the side panel and ask it to read a page, the extension can access content that is visible in that page, including text, tables, repeated groups of elements, links and image addresses, the page title, and the page address.

It reads this content only after you open Web to Excel and choose an action on that page. It does not read every page you visit in the background.

The extension does not read cookies, the page’s local storage, the browser history list, saved passwords, or files on your computer other than the CSV or Excel file you export.

A page can contain names or other personal information. If that information is part of the structure you export, it is included in the preview and in the file you create.

What stays on your device

Scanning, preview, CSV, and Excel run on your device. Extracted rows stay in memory for the open page until you leave that page. They are not written to extension storage.

The extension stores, on the device, the last export format, an empty account field, feature switches, a count of exports and rows, and the active tab id for the current browser session.

What is sent off your device

CSV and Excel are not uploaded.

Google Sheets runs only if you click the Sheets export. The extension then asks Chrome to sign you in to Google, sends a short-lived access token to Google, and sends the spreadsheet title and the cells you chose to sheets.googleapis.com over HTTPS. The page address is not sent to Google. The publisher does not receive a copy and does not operate a server for Web to Excel.

How information is used

Page content is used to build the table you preview and the file you export. The Google access token is used only to create that spreadsheet and is not stored by the extension. Information is not sold, is not used for advertising, and is not used to decide creditworthiness.

The use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

How long information is kept

Extracted rows remain until the page is closed or you navigate away. Local settings remain until you remove the extension or clear its storage. A Google Sheet you create remains in your Google account until you delete it there.

Children

Web to Excel is not directed at children under 13. The publisher does not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new date.
